Our History

When I think about the 60 years it has taken thus far to write the story of this community of worshipers here at Standale Reformed Church, I immediately think of the word “Faithful.”  From the humble, but powerful, beginning with 16 families who had the courage to begin something new, the words of Ephesians 3:20-21 have proven to be true. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,forever and ever! Amen.” Over the course of 60 years God has birthed a community who seeks to not just be a country club of individuals who receives desired goods and services but a community who, above all else, seeks to help bring the restored kingdom of God to our community.  Over the years that deep desire has manifested itself in sacrifice of time, money and sometimes even meant setting aside our own desires to choose that which will serve our neighbors and community more effectively.  Powerful and destructive storms both physical and spiritual have swept in at times but battle-weary faithfulness has prevailed.  Because of grown endurance and a depth of wisdom, many have come to faith, many have found this worshiping community to be a place of refuge amidst the storms of life, a place where the love of God and the hope found in Him is not only preached but lived out by its members outside the walls of the place we call “church” to be the Church to the world around us.  Our deep and continued prayer is that we will humbly and courageously continue to follow His continued call; that we will be bold and adventurous in walking into uncharted territory for another 60 years keeping our eyes on our master and our Lord.
