Pastor Jess Shults has served in a pastoral role at SRC for over 13 years and as the lead Pastor for the last six. She is originally from the Grandville area, but spent her high school years in Waupun, Wisconsin. Pastor Jess and Matt Shults (Director of Student Ministries & Outreach) have two boys, 12 and 9 who attend Cummings School. Their family enjoys camping, boating, and playing sports. Pastor Jess is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa with a degree in Christian Education and Religion and Western Theological Seminary, in Holland, Michigan. She feels deeply privileged to have the opportunity to walk beside individuals and families during great times of celebration as well as moments of deep sadness. But the richest experiences in ministry have been seeing individuals discover Christ for the first time and then watching them discover the ways Christ literally transforms their lives in every way. Matt has been the Director of Student Ministries since 2002. He is married to Jess (Lead Pastor) and has two boys Will (12) and Eli (9) who always keep him on his toes. Matt grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan, and went to college at Hope College (Holland, MI) and then transferred to Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, where he graduated with a BA in Religion. He is currently a student at Western Theological Seminary, where he is pursing his Masters of Theology. In his spare time he loves to golf, hunt, fish, watch sports, golf, coach lacrosse, learn more about photography and did he mention he loves to golf? His passion within the church is to create lifelong disciples of Christ. He loves working with students from their early teen years until adulthood, watching them fall in love with Jesus and use their gifts and talents for the sake of God’s kingdom. Contact Matt
Pastor Rick Tigchon grew up in the Grand Rapids and Grandville areas. He graduated from Grandville High School and received a BA in chemistry from Grand Valley State back when it was a college. He then graduated from Western Theological Seminary in 1974. Prior to becoming the part-time associate pastor at Standale Reformed Church, he served congregations in Greenleafton, Minnesota, Vicksburg, Michigan and Rockford, Michigan. He retired from full time ministry last June. He and his wife Nancy have been married 45 years and have three married daughters and ten grandchildren. Pastor Rick is an avid fisherperson and fly tier. He and Nancy enjoy traveling, hiking, and watching movies. Contact Rick
Trent Kooienga, Worship Leader
Trent Kooienga is our Worship leader. Trent is self-employed during the week. He is married to Mandy and they have three children, Lauren, Macy, and Chase. He has a love for sports, playing lots of basketball, tennis, some golf, and downhill skiing. He also enjoys music and hanging out with his family. Contact Trent
Harmony is the Kids Hope Director. She coordinates pairing students at Cummings Elementary with members of SRC in mentoring relationships. She has been a member at Standale Reformed Church for 24 years. Harmony graduated from Kuyper College in 2006, majoring in Educational Ministries and Bible/Theology. For years Harmony has served as a volunteer supporting many of the children’s ministries here at SRC. She has a deep passion for children and great excitement about the wonderful ministry of Kids Hope. Harmony is married to Andy and is the mother of Rachel who is 7 years old and Joshua who is 4. When she has spare time, she likes to scrapbook, read, or hang out with extended family. Contact Harmony
Bill Robrahn, Maintenance Director
Bill Robrahn has been the Maintenance Director since 2012 and has been attending SRC for over 30 years serving in multiple ways over that time. In his free time he enjoys watching his 3 grandchildren.
Phyllis has been the custodian since 2016 and serves in other capacities as well. She has been a member of SRC for over 37 years. She has been married to Tom for over 43 years; has two adult sons, one daughter in law, and 4 grandchildren. In her spare time she likes to crochet, work Sudoku puzzles, and spend time with family and friends.
